Anosognosia

Anosognosia is a neurological condition in which the patient is unaware of their neurological deficit or psychiatric condition. It is associated with mental illness, dementia, and structural brain lesion, as is seen in right hemisphere stroke patients. It can affect the patient’s conscious awareness of deficits involving judgment, emotions, memory, executive function, language skills, and motor ability. This course is a discussion of this symptom and how to manage as a caregiver.

Live! Parent Survivors Child Suicide

Unlike other losses, losing a beloved child to suicide or brain disease is complicated. In essence, the parents experience  isolation, confusion, and no meaningful  blueprint to guide them in the process of understanding and managing the unimaginable. Live! offers a safe place to connect with others experiencing similar loss and the work of healing around these deep wounds.

Participants will be introduced to a program that offers a solution for parents who have children who have died by suicide/brain disease.

Participants will leave with a clear understanding of complicated loss, post-traumatic growth, and the manner in which parents can be guided to a network of peers.
